Thomas Gallagher Romero works on PROBREAST, a Leonardo Grant project funded by the BBVA Foundation that focuses on the personalised prediction of therapeutic response in breast cancer using MRI-informed biomechanical simulations, in collaboration with the Center for Computational Oncology at UT Austin. He holds a BSc in Mathematics from University of Santiago de Compostela and an MSc in Industrial Mathematics from University of A Coruña.

In September 2026, he began his PhD under the supervision of Dr. Guillermo Lorenzo, focusing on multiscale models and digital twins of tumour response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy. His research interests include applied mathematics, numerical methods, computational mechanics, finite element modelling, and isogeometric analysis. Outside the lab, he plays electric guitar and enjoys literature and film.
